Pause & Reflect
Jesus brings us back to the source: “Remain in me, and I in you.” The branch cannot bear fruit by itself. Neither can we. After thirty days discussing spiritual fruit, it would be easy to leave with a long list of character traits to work harder at producing. Jesus gives us something better. Abide. Remain connected. Stay near. Receive His Word. Pray. Obey. Depend upon the Spirit. Return quickly when you wander. Fruit is the consequence of life flowing through the branch. Jesus also says that much fruit glorifies the Father. The goal is larger than becoming a nicer person. A fruitful life displays something about God. Your love points toward Him. Your joy. Your peace. Your patience. Your kindness. Your goodness. Your faithfulness. Your gentleness. Your self-control. All of it becomes evidence that Christ is changing a human life. Stay connected to the Vine.
Declare It Today
“Jesus is my Vine and my source. I will abide in Him and depend upon the Holy Spirit to produce lasting fruit. My life will increasingly glorify the Father.”

Jesus, keep me close to You. Protect me from attempting Christian life through self-effort. Holy Spirit, produce Your fruit abundantly in me until my character points others toward the Father. Amen. We can explore the fear of the Lord, wisdom, identity, character, diligence, marriage, singleness, motherhood, home, work/business, money, generosity, leadership, speech, strength and dignity, stewardship, influence and legacy—while keeping Christ, rather than an impossible standard of womanhood, at the centre.
