Be a Peacemaker

Day 161

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Matthew 5:9

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers.” There is a difference between being a peacemaker and merely being a peacekeeper. Peacekeeping can mean avoiding difficult conversations so nobody becomes uncomfortable. Peacemaking may require entering conflict wisely to pursue truth and reconciliation. Biblical peace is not pretending everything is fine. Sometimes peace requires apology. Sometimes confrontation. Sometimes listening. Sometimes mediation. Sometimes boundaries. A peacemaker does not unnecessarily inflame conflict, but neither does she sacrifice truth to preserve appearances. Ask yourself: When conflict arises, do I intensify it? Avoid it completely? Or seek to respond with truth, humility and grace?

Declare It Today

“I am called to be a peacemaker. I will not create unnecessary conflict or hide from necessary truth. I will pursue peace with wisdom, courage and grace.”

Let's Pray

Jesus, make me a woman of peace. Give me wisdom in conflict, humility to apologise when I am wrong and courage to speak truth lovingly when necessary. Amen. PATIENCE
