Pause & Reflect
Peter stepped out of the boat because Jesus said: “Come.” That matters. Faith is not reckless action we invent and then expect God to support. Peter's courage was a response to Christ's word. He stepped out. Then he became distracted by the wind and began to sink. Jesus reached for him. There is both challenge and comfort here. Challenge: sometimes obedience requires leaving what feels safe. Comfort: failure in the middle of obedience does not mean Jesus disappears. If you step forward and discover weakness, cry out to Him. Faith is not proving you can walk on water. It is trusting the One who called you out of the boat.
Declare It Today
“I will not confuse faith with recklessness. When Jesus calls me forward, I will obey courageously and keep my attention on Him.”
Let's Pray
Jesus, give me courage to obey what You are genuinely asking of me. Keep me from both fear and presumption. When I falter, teach me to reach toward You quickly. Amen.
