Flee Temptation

God promises that temptation will not be unique or irresistible and that He will provide a way of escape. But we still have to take the escape. Sometimes we pray for victory while repeatedly placing ourselves in the exact environment where temptation is strongest. Scripture often uses surprisingly practical language: flee. Joseph ran from Potiphar's wife. Paul tells Timothy to flee youthful lusts. Sometimes the spiritual response is not staying to prove how strong you are. Leave. Delete. Block. Move. Tell somebody. Change the routine. Avoid the environment. Temptation itself is not the same as sin. Jesus was tempted without sin. But entertaining temptation unnecessarily is dangerous. Don't negotiate with what God has told you to flee.
