Pause & Reflect
“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding.” Trust becomes most difficult when our understanding seems persuasive. We can see a plan that appears logical. We know what outcome we prefer. We may even have already decided what God ought to do. Proverbs invites us to something deeper: acknowledge God in all our ways. Surrender doesn't mean refusing to think, plan or seek wise counsel. Scripture celebrates wisdom. It means our understanding does not become our god. We make plans while remaining teachable. We make decisions while submitting them to Scripture. We move forward while allowing God to redirect us. A surrendered heart can say: “Lord, this is what I think—but what I ultimately want is Your way.”
Declare It Today
“I trust the Lord with my whole heart. I will use the wisdom He gives me without making my own understanding ultimate. I surrender my plans and paths to Him.”
Let's Pray
Father, I surrender my plans, expectations and assumptions to You. Give me wisdom to make good decisions and humility to accept Your direction. Where I am leaning too heavily on my own understanding, teach me deeper trust. Amen.
