Pause & Reflect
Jesus calls His followers to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. This is one of the most demanding teachings in the gospel. Loving an enemy does not require pretending the person is trustworthy. It does not mean refusing legal protection, boundaries or justice. Love does not remove moral clarity. It changes the posture of the heart. We refuse hatred. Refuse revenge. Refuse to become like the person who hurt us. We pray for God's truth and grace to work—even in someone who has acted against us. This kind of love is impossible to sustain through sentiment alone. It requires the grace of Christ. The goal is not to manufacture warm feelings. It is to seek what is truly good while entrusting justice to God and appropriate authorities where necessary.

“I will not allow hatred or revenge to rule me. By God's grace, I choose to pray for those who oppose me while walking in truth, wisdom and appropriate boundaries.”
Let's Pray
Jesus, Your command is difficult. Give me grace to love without becoming naive and to seek good without surrendering truth. Free me from revenge and keep my heart tender before You. Amen.
