Pause & Reflect
After eleven chapters explaining God's mercy, Paul calls believers to respond: “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God.” This is where our first thirty-one days on the Holy Spirit should lead: surrender. We can learn terminology about the Spirit. Study spiritual gifts. Discuss guidance. Desire power. Seek experiences. But if we continually resist God's authority, we have missed the point. The Spirit works to transform us into people whose lives increasingly belong to God. Surrender is not a one-time emotional moment. Tomorrow there will be another decision. Another thought to bring under Christ. Another opportunity to obey. Another desire to surrender. Another place to trust. The Spirit-filled life is the yielded life. Not perfection. Not passivity. But a continuing: “Yes, Lord. My life is Yours.”
Declare It Today
“My life belongs to God. I present myself to Him as a living sacrifice and welcome the Holy Spirit's transforming work. I choose surrender over self-rule.”
Let's Pray
Father, because of Your mercy, I offer myself again to You. Holy Spirit, renew my mind and expose the places where I still resist God's authority. Let my worship become a surrendered life. I belong to You. In Jesus' name, amen.
