Pause & Reflect
Peter compares tested faith to gold refined by fire. Fire reveals what is genuine. Trials can do the same with faith. It is one thing to say: “God is enough.” It is another to discover whether we still believe it when something precious is threatened. Testing may expose areas where our confidence has rested more heavily on circumstances than we realised. That discovery can be painful. But it can also purify faith. A tested faith becomes less dependent upon ideal conditions. It learns: God was faithful there. He sustained me there. His Word remained true there. And if another trial comes, I know more deeply where to run.
Declare It Today
“My faith is precious to God. I will allow difficult seasons to drive my roots deeper into Christ rather than away from Him.”
Let's Pray
Lord, strengthen my faith under pressure. Reveal false foundations and deepen my confidence in You. May testing produce a faith that honours Christ. Amen.
