A City Without Walls

Day 174

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Proverbs 25:28

Pause & Reflect

Proverbs compares a person without self-control to a city whose walls are broken down. In the ancient world, walls provided protection. Without them, a city was vulnerable. Self-control creates protective boundaries. Without it, every desire gains access. Every emotion demands expression. Every advertisement can become a purchase. Every attraction becomes something to pursue. Every appetite becomes a master. Every provocation becomes a reaction. Boundaries are not always restrictions on freedom. Sometimes they preserve freedom. A budget is a boundary. A bedtime can be a boundary. Digital limits can be boundaries. Sexual boundaries are boundaries. Healthy routines create walls around what matters. Ask: Where does my life currently need stronger walls?

Declare It Today

“Godly boundaries protect what matters. I will build wise limits around areas where lack of self-control repeatedly makes me vulnerable.”

Let's Pray

Father, show me where my walls are broken down. Give me wisdom to establish practical boundaries and discipline to respect them. Amen.
