Becoming More Like Jesus

Day 151

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Colossians 1:9–12

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Paul prayed that believers would be filled with the knowledge of God's will so they could walk worthily of the Lord, bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of God. Movement 5 ends where sanctification ultimately points: a life increasingly pleasing to Christ. Growth is never merely internal. What God teaches begins to shape how we walk. Knowledge produces obedience. Obedience produces fruit. Fruit deepens knowledge of God. And through it all, Paul prays for believers to be strengthened with God's power for endurance and patience. Becoming like Jesus is a lifelong journey. There will always be another layer of pride to surrender. Another opportunity to love. Another place to trust. Another area where truth needs to penetrate more deeply. Do not be discouraged by the fact that you are still growing. Be concerned only if you no longer desire to grow. Keep following. Keep learning. Keep repenting. Keep abiding.

Declare It Today

“I am committed to lifelong growth in Christ. I will continue learning, obeying, repenting and bearing fruit as God forms me into the woman He has called me to become.”
