Pause & Reflect
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The Christian life does not require pretending we no longer sin. John says the opposite. Claiming we have no sin deceives us. Maturity is not becoming better at hiding failure. It is becoming quicker to bring sin into God's light. Confession means agreeing with God. No minimising. No blaming. No renaming sin so it feels more respectable. And notice the foundation of forgiveness: He is faithful and righteous. Our confidence is not the quality of our apology. It is God's faithfulness and Christ's saving work. Confess honestly. Receive cleansing gratefully. Then walk forward.
Declare It Today
“I will live honestly before God. When I sin, I will confess rather than hide, trusting His faithfulness to forgive and cleanse me through Christ.”
Let's Pray
Father, search me and reveal anything I am hiding or excusing. I confess my sin before You and thank You for the cleansing available through Jesus. Help me walk in the light. Amen.
