His Mercy Is New Every Morning

Lamentations was written in the context of profound grief. That makes its declaration of God's mercy even more powerful. Hope wasn't being spoken from an easy season. It was being remembered in the middle of devastation. Sometimes we imagine faith means denying what hurts. Scripture gives us something much more honest. Lamentations makes room for grief while still turning the heart toward God's character. His mercies are new every morning. Yesterday may contain things you wish you could change. Perhaps you failed. Perhaps someone disappointed you. Perhaps life simply didn't unfold as you expected. Today arrives with fresh mercy. That doesn't mean consequences vanish or painful memories cease to matter. It means yesterday does not exhaust God's compassion. You can repent. You can receive grace. You can begin again. The God who sustained you yesterday has not run out of mercy today.
