Jesus Is Lord

Day 59

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Philippians 2:9–11

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Paul declares that God highly exalted Jesus and gave Him the name above every name. The destination of history is clear: every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Movement 2 therefore ends where Christian discipleship must continually return: Jesus is not merely Saviour from something. He is Lord over everything. We gladly receive His forgiveness. But lordship means He also has authority over our lives. Our sexuality. Money. Career. Relationships. Speech. Ambitions. Private behaviour. Public influence. Future plans. The Christian life is not about surrendering one moment and then reclaiming ownership of everything else. It is an ongoing life of allegiance. And Christ’s lordship is not oppressive. The Lord we obey is the One who humbled Himself, served, loved and went to the cross. We bow before the King who gave Himself for us.

Declare It Today

“Jesus Christ is Lord. Every area of my life belongs under His authority. I will follow Him not only as my Saviour but as my King.”

Let's Pray

Lord Jesus, I confess that You are Lord. Show me any area I have withheld from Your authority. Give me grace to surrender daily and to obey You with confidence in Your goodness. May my life bring glory to Your name. Amen. Movement 2 complete ✅ We now have: Days 1–31 — Knowing God ✅ Days 32–59 — Jesus: Our Saviour & Lord ✅ That means 59 of the 365 full master devotionals are drafted. And the transition into Movement 3 is now natural: Jesus is Lord → Jesus promises the Helper → Life in the Holy Spirit. Next is Days 60–90: Life in the Holy Spirit, which is especially important because all 31 will also form the theological heart of HS90.
