Pause & Reflect
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He answered with Scripture: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” Physical nourishment matters. But human beings need more than physical provision. We need truth. Our souls become malnourished when Scripture is treated as an occasional accessory rather than essential nourishment. We consume words constantly—from conversations, social media, entertainment, news, advertising and our own internal dialogue. The question is not whether words are shaping us. The question is which words are shaping us most. Jesus demonstrated a life saturated with God's Word. The goal is not simply to accumulate Bible knowledge. Scripture should become truth we believe, wisdom we apply and nourishment that strengthens us to resist deception. Feed your soul intentionally.
Declare It Today
“I need God's Word. I will not live by the voices of this world alone. I will nourish my mind and spirit with Scripture and allow God's truth to shape my responses.”
Let's Pray
Lord, create in me a genuine hunger for Your Word. Help me recognise the voices that are shaping my thinking and bring every message under the authority of Scripture. Feed me with truth and strengthen me to live by it. Amen.
