Rejoice Always?

Day 157

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Philippians 4:4

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Paul writes: “Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, rejoice!” Those words were not written from a life untouched by difficulty. Paul knew imprisonment, opposition, loss and suffering. Yet notice where he locates joy: in the Lord. He does not say: Rejoice because every circumstance is wonderful. He says: Rejoice in the Lord. Christian joy becomes possible because its deepest object remains unchanged. God's character does not deteriorate. Christ's resurrection does not expire. Grace does not run out. Our inheritance does not disappear when today is difficult. Sometimes rejoicing is spontaneous. Sometimes it is deliberate remembrance. You remind your soul what remains true.

Declare It Today

“I choose to rejoice in the Lord. My circumstances may change, but the character, salvation and promises of God remain worthy of praise.”

Let's Pray

Lord, teach me to rejoice in You without denying the realities I face. Bring Your goodness to my remembrance and cultivate resilient joy in me. Amen.
