You Are the Christ

Jesus asked His disciples two questions. First: “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” Then He made it personal: “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” People continue to have many opinions about Jesus. Prophet. Teacher. Historical figure. Moral example. Revolutionary. But eventually every disciple must confront Jesus' question personally. Who do you say He is? Calling Jesus the Christ is more than agreeing with a theological statement. If He truly is God's promised Messiah and Lord, that truth demands a response. You cannot meaningfully confess Jesus as Lord while insisting upon being the ultimate authority over your own life. Faith moves from information about Jesus to allegiance to Jesus. So allow His question to reach beyond the page today. Who is Jesus to you? And does the way you live agree with your answer?
