Your Body Belongs to God

Day 136

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Pause & Reflect

Paul reminds believers that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that they were bought with a price. That gives the body both dignity and responsibility. Christianity does not teach us to despise our bodies as though only the “spiritual” part matters. Nor does it teach that our bodies belong solely to our impulses. They belong to God. That affects sexuality, rest, habits, health, substance use, self-care and the way we treat ourselves physically. This is not about pursuing an impossible appearance standard. It is about stewardship. Your body is not your enemy. It is part of the life God has entrusted to you. Honouring God physically may look different across seasons and abilities, but the question remains: How can I treat my body as something belonging to God rather than as something to abuse, worship or neglect?

Declare It Today

“My body belongs to God and is a temple of the Holy Spirit. I will reject both shame and careless self-indulgence and seek to honour God physically.”

Let's Pray

Father, teach me to see my body through Your truth. Heal distorted attitudes toward appearance, control or neglect. Give me wisdom to steward my physical life in ways that honour You. Amen.
