Pause & Reflect
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” Being Spirit-led is sometimes discussed almost entirely in terms of major decisions: Which job? Which city? Which opportunity? But Romans 8 places the Spirit's leadership within a much larger context: living as God's children and putting sinful ways to death. The Spirit leads us toward holiness. Toward truth. Toward Christlikeness. So before asking for extraordinary guidance, pay attention to ordinary obedience. If Scripture has already told us to forgive, tell the truth, flee sexual immorality, love our neighbour or act justly, we do not need a special revelation to decide whether obedience applies. Learning the Spirit's leadership begins with becoming responsive to what God has already made clear.
Declare It Today
“I desire to be led by the Holy Spirit. I will seek His direction in major decisions while also responding faithfully to the everyday obedience already revealed in Scripture.”
Let's Pray
Holy Spirit, lead me today. Give me wisdom where decisions are unclear and obedience where God's Word is already clear. Make me increasingly responsive to Your holy direction. Amen.
