Pause & Reflect
Scripture says: “Be angry, and don't sin.” That is remarkably balanced. The Bible does not command us never to experience anger. It commands us not to allow anger to lead us into sin. Emotions are signals. They can tell us something has hurt, frightened, disappointed or angered us. But signals are not always instructions. Feeling something does not automatically mean acting upon it is wise. Spiritual maturity is neither emotional explosion nor emotional suppression. It is learning to bring emotions before God. Name them. Examine them. Understand what is beneath them. Then choose a response consistent with truth. You can feel deeply and still respond wisely.
Declare It Today
“My emotions are real, but they are not my master. I will acknowledge what I feel, bring it before God and choose responses consistent with His truth.”
Let's Pray
Father, help me understand my emotions without being ruled by them. Heal what needs healing, correct what needs correcting and give me self-control in how I respond. Amen.
