Pause & Reflect
Paul describes a conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. Every Christian knows something of this struggle. Part of you desires what honours God. Another desire pulls toward immediate gratification. The existence of the battle does not mean the Holy Spirit has abandoned you. It means there is a battle to fight. And Paul's answer is not simply: “Try harder.” It is: “Walk by the Spirit.” Victory grows from daily dependence. Listen to God's Word. Respond to conviction. Remove unnecessary temptation. Build wise habits. Pray. Seek accountability. Choose obedience repeatedly. The flesh says: “Give me what I want now.” The Spirit leads us toward what produces life.
Declare It Today
“I will walk by the Spirit rather than surrendering to the desires of the flesh. Through God's power, I can choose obedience one decision at a time.”
Let's Pray
Holy Spirit, strengthen me in the battles nobody else sees. Make me sensitive to Your direction and courageous enough to make practical choices that support holiness. Amen. FRUITFULNESS
